Paper Quilling

When: April 19th, April 26th

Duration: 2 weeks

Cost: $75

Paper quilling is one of the oldest decorative paper art forms, with origins dating back hundreds of years. Historically, narrow strips of paper were carefully rolled, shaped, and arranged to embellish manuscripts, frames, and decorative objects—often mimicking the look of ornate metalwork.

In this three-week workshop, participants will explore this elegant and meditative artform while learning how simple materials can be transformed into richly dimensional designs. Designed for beginners and curious creatives alike, this workshop covers essential quilling supplies, foundational techniques, and classic shapes such as coils, scrolls, and teardrops. Participants will also be introduced to different styles of quilling and how they can be combined to create depth, movement, and visual interest within a finished piece.

Each two-hour session offers guided instruction along with ample time for hands-on practice. Participants may choose to follow a structured project or work from reference images of their own choosing, allowing both support and creative flexibility. Paper quilling is a calm, precise, and surprisingly forgiving artform—making it ideal for those new to detailed craft work or anyone looking for a relaxing, focus-driven creative experience. By the end of the workshop, participants will complete a finished quilled artwork and gain the foundational skills needed to continue exploring and expanding their quilling practice beyond the class.
